What is 3-A-Day?

America's low calcium intake is recognized as a major public health concern. To address this issue, the American Dairy Association and the National Dairy Council, with support from health professional associations, launched "3-A-Day of Dairy," a multi-year health and wellness campaign. The campaign raises awareness of the overall health benefits of consuming milk, cheese and yogurt with a simple call-to-action: Eat three servings of milk, cheese and yogurt each day. The program's messages are grounded in science and based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

The American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Dietetic Association, National Hispanic Medical Association, National Medical Association, and School Nutrition Association all support the 3-A-Day of Dairy program.

How does it work?

Power up your day with 3-A-Day - that's three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt for stronger bones and better bodies. This planner offers delicious ideas to pique your palate and pack a nutrient punch every day of the week.

Try milk, cheese or yogurt in fat free and low fat varieties to meet your taste and nutritional needs. For an easy way to recall serving sizes, remember 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of yogurt and 1-1 1/2 ounces of natural cheese. "Bone" Appetit!
